NSA surveillance controversy centered on U.S. fear that Europe's economic powerhouse will dump the dollar

Financial analyst Jim Willie sensationally claims that Germany is preparing to ditch the unipolar system backed by NATO and the U.S. in favor of joining the BRICS nations, and that this is why the NSA was caught spying on Angela Merkel and other German leaders.

In an interview with USA Watchdog’s Greg Hunter, Willie, a statistical analyst who holds a PhD in statistics, asserted that the real reason behind the recent NSA surveillance scandal targeting Germany was centered around the United States’ fear that Europe’s financial powerhouse is looking to escape from an inevitable dollar collapse.

“I think they are looking for details on assisting Russia on dumping the dollar. I think they are looking for details for a secret movement for Germany to get away from the dollar and join the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.) This is exactly what I think they are going to do,” said Willie.

Earlier this month, the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), announced the creation of a new $100 billion dollar anti-dollar alternative IMF bank to be based in Shanghai and chaired by Moscow.

Putin launched the new system by saying it was designed to, “help prevent the harassment of countries that do not agree with some foreign policy decisions made by the United States and their allies,” a clear signal that Russia and other BRICS countries are moving to create a new economic system which is adversarial to the IMF and the World Bank.

Offering an insight into the attitude of the western elite towards Russia, comments made by the likes of former US ambassador to Iraq Christopher R. Hill suggest that Moscow is increasingly being viewed as a rogue state. Back in April, Hill said that Russia’s response to the Ukraine crisis meant that Moscow had betrayed the “new world order” it has been a part of for the last 25 years.

In another sign that BRICS nations are moving to create an entirely new multi-polar model adversarial to the west, the five countries are also constructing an alternative Internet backbone which will circumvent the United States in order to avoid NSA spying.

Willie also ties the Germany’s move into last week’s shoot down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, which has been exploited by the U.S. and Britain to push for more stringent sanctions on Russia despite the fact that they have had little effect so far and only appear to be harming the trade interests of countries in mainland Europe.

“Here’s the big, big consequence. The U.S. is basically telling Europe you have two choices here. Join us with the war against Russia. Join us with the sanctions against Russia. Join us in constant war and conflicts, isolation and destruction to your economy and denial of your energy supply and removal of contracts. Join us with this war and sanctions because we’d really like you to keep the dollar regime going. They are going to say were tired of the dollar. . . . We are pushing Germany. Don’t worry about France, don’t worry about England, worry about Germany. Germany has 3,000 companies doing active business right now. They are not going to join the sanctions—period.”

'Death Train' Derails in Mexico...

Mexican train derails, stranding 1,300 migrants headed toward U.S.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - A cargo train used by Mexicans and Central Americans to travel toward the U.S. border derailed in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca on Wednesday, stranding about 1,300 migrants, emergency services said.

Many of the migrants aboard were young people and nobody was injured when the train nicknamed "the Beast" came off the tracks, a spokesman for local emergency services said.
Since last October, more than 50,000 unaccompanied minors, most from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, have been caught illegally crossing the southwest border of the United States.
Children say that they are fleeing violence at home and hope that they will be able to stay in the United States.
Several days of heavy rain in southern Mexico may have caused the train to derail, authorities said.

Hillary Clinton in Hampton, NH (Photo: flickr/cc/Marc Nozell) Speaking at a conference in San Diego last week for the world's largest trade organization of biotechnology firms, potential presidintial candidate Hillary Clinton backed GMOs and Big Ag, further displaying her allegiance to the industry in the eyes of sustainable food and organic advocates.

While trumpeting her endorsement of GMO seeds when she served as Secretary of State, Clinton told the crowd that the term "'genetically modified' sounds Frankensteinish," and thus turns people off to GMOs. "Drought resistant sounds really like something you'd want," she said, encouraging the industry to improve their semantics. “There’s a big gap between the facts and what the perceptions are.”

Clinton's certainty concerning the safety of GMO foods stands in stark contrast to public opinion. A Consumer Reports poll in June found that 92 percent of Americans favor labeling the foods.
U.S. campaigners rejecting the industry's push for genetically-modified crops have been pushing hard to get states to pass labeling laws.

"Hillary Clinton's views on GMOs are disappointing, but not surprising," said Katherine Paul, associate director of the Organic Consumers Union, in an email to Common Dreams. Unfortunately, Paul continued, Clinton's positions are "no different than those of previous administrations, including the Bush, Clinton and Reagan administrations, and they are taken straight from the biotech industry's talking points."

"Credible scientists, backed by independent (not industry-funded) studies are clear about the fact that foods containing GMOs are linked to a host of chronic illnesses," Paul continued. "The American Medical Association has called for pre-market safety testing and a recent pilot study found unsafe levels of glysophate, the key ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup, in the blood, urine and breast milk of American women."

During the hour that Clinton addressed the conference she also addressed fears that current subsidies and tax breaks aren't enough, or won't continue to be there in the future. “I don’t want to see biotech companies or pharma companies moving out of our country simply because of some perceived tax disadvantage and potential tax advantage somewhere else,” she assured the crowd, receiving vigorous applause in response.

"We should have an intensive discussion," Clinton said. “Maybe there’s a way of getting a representative group of actors at the table” so that the federal government can help biotechs with “insurance against risk.”

Clinton's ties to biotech have surfaced before, particularly her history with industry heavyweight Monsanto. The Rose Law Firm where Clinton worked in the 1980s represents both Monsanto and Tyson Foods.

Mark Penn, who served as CEO for one the world's largest public relations firms, Burson-Marsteller, which has also represented Monsanto, was a White House advisor under Bill Clinton and served as chief strategist and pollster to Hillary Clinton in her 2008 presidential campaign.

During Hillary's tenure as Secretary of State, the State Department heavily pressured other countries to use GMOs through a variety of methods, including bringing foreign journalists to the U.S. to "participate in a one-week biotech tour" so that they could help shift public opinion in their home country.

Yet Clinton's choices in her personal life indicate she's not so convinced that the science is in on genetically modified foods. According to Walter Sheib, who served as White House executive chef during the Clinton presidency, the job offered him the "professional challenge of fulfilling Hillary Clinton's mandate of bringing...nutritionally responsible food to the White House," meaning nearly everything he used "was obtained from local growers and suppliers."

And as Mother Jones reported in 2012, Scheib said that while Clinton's rooftop garden at the White House wasn't "certified organic," everything in it "was absolutely grown without pesticides and fertilizers. I guess it's what these days we call 'natural.'"

"If Hillary Clinton intends to run for office in 2016, she should think carefully about supporting a food and farming system that is proven to be detrimental to public health," said Paul, "unless she and her family are willing to give up eating organic and eat the same toxic food that she promotes to the general population."

• Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev admitted in writing that the Soviet Union’s Red Army shelled the Russian village of Mainila in 1939, and declared that the fire originated from Finland as a basis launching the Winter War four days later

• As admitted by the U.S. government, recently declassified documents show that in the 1960′s, the American Joint Chiefs of Staff signed off on a plan to blow up AMERICAN airplanes (using an elaborate plan involving the switching of airplanes), and also to commit terrorist acts on American soil, and then to blame it on the Cubans in order to justify an invasion of Cuba. • 2 years before, American Senator George Smathers had suggested that the U.S. make “a false attack made on Guantanamo Bay which would give us the excuse of actually fomenting a fight which would then give us the excuse to go in and [overthrow Castro]“.

• And Official State Department documents show that – only nine months before the Joint Chiefs of Staff plan was proposed – the head of the Joint Chiefs and other high-level officials discussed blowing up a consulate in the Dominican Republic in order to justify an invasion of that country. The 3 plans were not carried out, but they were all discussed as serious proposals

• A U.S. Congressional committee admitted that – as part of its “Cointelpro” campaign – the FBI had used many provocateurs in the 1950s through 1970s to carry out violent acts and falsely blame them on political activists

• The South African Truth and Reconciliation Council found that, in 1989, the Civil Cooperation Bureau (a covert branch of the South African Defense Force) approached an explosives expert and asked him “to participate in an operation aimed at discrediting the ANC [the African National Congress] by bombing the police vehicle of the investigating officer into the murder incident”, thus framing the ANC for the bombing

• According to the Washington Post, Indonesian police admit that the Indonesian military killed American teachers in Papua in 2002 and blamed the murders on a Papuan separatist group in order to get that group listed as a terrorist organization.

• The well-respected former Indonesian president also admits that the government probably had a role in the Bali bombings

• As reported by BBC, the New York Times, and Associated Press, Macedonian officials admit that the government murdered 7 innocent immigrants in cold blood and pretended that they were Al Qaeda soldiers attempting to assassinate Macedonian police, in order to join the “war on terror”.

• Although the FBI now admits that the 2001 anthrax attacks were carried out by one or more U.S. government scientists, a senior FBI official says that the FBI was actually told to blame the Anthrax attacks on Al Qaeda by White House officials (remember what the anthrax letters looked like). Government officials also confirm that the white House tried to link the anthrax to Iraq as a justification for regime change in that country

• Similarly, the U.S. falsely blamed Iraq for playing a role in the 9/11 attacks – as shown by a memo from the defense secretary – as one of the main justifications for launching the Iraq war.  Even after the 9/11 Commission admitted that there was no connection, Dick Cheney said that the evidence is “overwhelming” that al Qaeda had a relationship with Saddam Hussein’s regime, that Cheney “probably” had information unavailable to the Commission, and that the media was not ‘doing their homework’ in reporting such ties.   Top U.S. government officials now admit that the Iraq war was really launched for oil … not 9/11 or weapons of mass destruction  (despite previous “lone wolf” claims, many U.S. government officials now say that 9/11 was state-sponsored terror; but Iraq was not the state which backed the hijackers)

• Former Department of Justice lawyer John Yoo suggested in 2005 that the US should go on the offensive against al-Qaeda, having “our intelligence agencies create a false terrorist organization. It could have its own websites, recruitment centers, training camps, and fundraising operations. It could launch fake terrorist operations and claim credit for real terrorist strikes, helping to sow confusion within al-Qaeda’s ranks, causing operatives to doubt others’ identities and to question the validity of communications.”

• United Press International reported in June 2005:

U.S. intelligence officers are reporting that some of the insurgents in Iraq are using recent-model Beretta 92 pistols, but the pistols seem to have had their serial numbers erased. The numbers do not appear to have been physically removed; the pistols seem to have come off a production line without any serial numbers. Analysts suggest the lack of serial numbers indicates that the weapons were intended for intelligence operations or terrorist cells with substantial government backing. Analysts speculate that these guns are probably from either Mossad or the CIA. Analysts speculate that agent provocateurs may be using the untraceable weapons even as U.S. authorities use insurgent attacks against civilians as evidence of the illegitimacy of the resistance.

• Undercover Israeli soldiers admitted in 2005 to throwing stones at other Israeli soldiers so they could blame it on Palestinians, as an excuse to crack down on peaceful protests by the Palestinians

• Quebec police admitted that, in 2007, thugs carrying rocks to a peaceful protest were actually undercover Quebec police officers (and see this)

• At the G20 protests in London in 2009, a British member of parliament saw plain clothes police officers attempting to incite the crowd to violence

• A Colombian army colonel has admitted that his unit murdered 57 civilians, then dressed them in uniforms and claimed they were rebels killed in combat

• U.S. soldiers have admitted that if they kill innocent Iraqis and Afghanis, they then “drop” automatic weapons near their body so they can pretend they were militants

• The highly-respected writer for the Telegraph Ambrose Evans-Pritchard says that the head of Saudi intelligence – Prince Bandar – recently admitted that the Saudi government controls “Chechen” terrorists

• High-level American sources admitted that the Turkish government – a fellow Nato country – carried out the chemical weapons attacks blamed on the Syrian government; and high-ranking Turkish government admitted on tape plans to carry out false flag attacks and blame it on the Syrian government

So Common … There’s a Name for It

This tactic is so common that it was given a name for hundreds of years ago.
“False flag terrorism” is defined as a government attacking its own people, then blaming others in order to justify going to war against the people it blames. Or as Wikipedia defines it:

False flag operations are covert operations conducted by governments, corporations, or other organizations, which are designed to appear as if they are being carried out by other entities. The name is derived from the military concept of flying false colors; that is, flying the flag of a country other than one’s own. False flag operations are not limited to war and counter-insurgency operations, and have been used in peace-time; for example, during Italy’s strategy of tension.

The term comes from the old days of wooden ships, when one ship would hang the flag of its enemy before attacking another ship in its own navy. Because the enemy’s flag, instead of the flag of the real country of the attacking ship, was hung, it was called a “false flag” attack.
Indeed, this concept is so well-accepted that rules of engagement for naval, air and land warfare all prohibit false flag attacks.

TEN STEPS TO SUBVERSION

Too often, local and world affairs appear to be unfolding as if someone were following a master script. In this context, these “ten steps to subversion” are fascinating.

Said to have been found in Dusseldorf, Germany, by Allied Forces in 1919, they were then printed in the U.S. in the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise (Oklahoma). Another source labels these “Communist Rules for the Russian Revolution, 1918″. In 1946, the attorney general of Florida obtained them from a known member of the Communist Party, who acknowledged that the “rules” were then still a part of the Communist program for the United States.  Nearly the same text was found in the purportedly 18th century Illuminati Protocols (labeled fake but written by someone).

Curiously, this plan fits in with recent times and seems to parallel the government and corporate agenda of today.

1. Corrupt the young: Get them away from spirituality. Get them interested in sex. Make them superficial; destroy their ruggedness.

Some people not in the “young” age group might say this trend has been going on for a long time. For example, blatant sex can be seen in most advertising — so much so that it is difficult to remember when it was otherwise.

The operative goal here is a moral corruption of youth through excessively materialistic values, resulting in overwhelming superficiality. If a whole generation grows up to be concerned only about one’s personal benefit and enjoyment — the enjoyment being based on material possessions and superficial immediate gratification — society will not find it easy to fight for the survival of the community or the nation. It will be a fractured society, one that would be easy to take over and control by force.

We need to be aware of this goal and try to mitigate against it. Some may say that today’s youth have already gone in the direction of this first goal. But there is always a percentage who are more deeply aware and who will fight for higher visions. 

2. Get control of all means of publicity.

By making one or two corporations control all the print media, and also television, this goal is being achieved. 

3. Get people’s minds off their government by focusing their attention on athletics, sexy books, plays, and immoral movies.

This one, again, sounds dated, but the concept isn’t. How about, “Get people’s minds off what the government’s backers are making it do, by offering a great many sports on TV, and a multitude of soap operas and sitcoms liberally laced with sex, violence and scandal. In the news (TV and print media), feature as much news as possible about disasters, violence and murder. Don’t, however, print any news that would allow people to piece together what is really going on in the world. 

4. Divide the people into hostile groups by constantly harping on controversial matters of no importance.

We see this all the time. In B.C., one of the favourite topics to divide communities relate to land claims and indigenous rights. In 1995, we had a classic example in the Gustafsen Lake stand-off. The mainstream media made people believe that the Native sovereigntists were “after your private property”. Even after the Mounties self-condemned themselves in a “training video”, where they said they wanted to “smear the Indians” and make themselves “look good”, the disinformation continued in the major media.

Other popular divisive topics are illegal refugees, immigration, taxes, and various irrelevant aspects of government. Important issues that affect democracy and sovereignty — like the global corporate takeover via so-called “trade” deals where, for example, transnationals can sue governments but people cannot sue corporations — are never discussed. Nor are the real goals behind globalization. All we are told is that it is inevitable and it is good for us. 

5. Destroy the people’s faith in their natural leaders by holding the latter up to contempt, ridicule and disgrace.

One popular way to destroy people’s faith in their leaders is to marginalize these leaders by giving them no media access. We have seen this in connection with leaders of new political parties. During the last two federal elections, one of Canada’s elder statesmen, the Honourable Paul Hellyer, a former deputy prime minister, was deliberately humiliated by not being allowed in on the “major” leaders’ debates — because “minor” parties were not deemed to be of importance.

Potential leaders are also marginalized by being made to seem unreliable or lightweight. David Orchard is a young, charismatic “natural” leader. He has been pushed aside, even though he came second in a democratic vote for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party.

This list could go on. The practice is particularly common, even in the Native community where hereditary chiefs have been shunted out of power, replaced by government/corporate protégés. 

6. Always preach true democracy, but seize power as fast and as ruthlessly as possible.

We have a brilliant example of this in the recent U.S. presidential election. Both George W. Bush and Vice-president Al Gore extolled American democracy in the face of a blatant power grab. Massive electoral irregularities in the State of Florida gave the presidency to Mr. Bush. However, subsequent informal counts have shown that Bush did not win the state or the nation. Nevertheless, he has been ensconced in the White House. 

7. By encouraging government extravagance, destroy its credit, produce years of inflation with rising prices and general discontent.

We have seen a rise in the public debt since our federal government moved away from using the publicly owned Bank of Canada to finance its expenditures, thus increasing private borrowing with interest. Inflationary interest rates in the ‘80s cost many Canadians their homes and businesses. After the introduction of the FTA and NAFTA, the country has never recovered. The floodgate was opened to the foreign takeover of Canadian resources, with the accompanying loss of sovereignty. It is correct to say that many Canadians are not content with the situation, but they are not sure how to fix it. 

8. Incite unnecessary strikes in vital industries, encourage civil disorders and foster a lenient and soft attitude on the part of the government toward such disorders.

We saw this plan in Canada in the 1970s. The lenient attitude was evident when large wage increases were permitted, unrelated to any growth in productivity, and a subsequent inflation in prices. Although it is denied, inflation continues today, to the detriment of people on fixed incomes. 

9. Cause breakdown of the old moral values — honesty, sobriety, self-restraint, faith in the pledged word, ruggedness.

These values were once dear to almost any thriving traditional society, having strong currency in European and North American society as recently as 100 years ago.

The Indigenous nations of North America lived by these moral values. Clearly one could not survive in the natural context without being able to trust one’s neighbours. Neighbours helped neighbours; clan helped clan. A family was a self-sufficient unit when it came to the procurement of food, shelter and clothing.

In the urban context, this simple equation has disappeared, replaced by an impersonal government and, increasingly, corporate infrastructure. Aside from being impersonal, this infrastructure is not responsive to the real needs of the individual citizen or family.

In this manner, self-sufficiency and ruggedness are lost in the metropolitan area context. If some disaster caused the loss of the supply infrastructure in our cities, people would starve because they’ve lost the skills of finding food for themselves. And due to huge rates of immigration, our numbers are inflated to the point that we could not put everyone out on the land to fend for themselves. Raiding parties would attack rural areas, causing starvation even where the food is grown. Corporate mega farms would become military encampments. Those pillaging for leftovers would be shot on sight. This actually happened under Communism in the Ukraine in the 1930s, with a loss of two million lives.

Whoever controls the food supply and drinking water is the complete master of all. The corporations are more aware of this than the average citizen, and they are busy modifying the food supply so that it can be controlled through patents — owned by the holders of the patents. Water is being commodified to give control to the transnational corporations. The current legal action under NAFTA by Sunbelt Water of California against Canada and B.C. is only the first salvo in the water wars. Recently a traditional chief revealed that bulk water exports are already taking place from the mid-coast regions.

This final step is in progress in Canada today, under the pretext of reducing crime. Australia has already travelled this road and given the lie to this excuse. They have had rising violence and crime after their guns were confiscated. In every recent dictatorship, guns have been taken from the people. It is the final step of a global plan.

This plan appears to be the essence of the New World Order and the global corporate power grab. It requires no stretch of the imagination to believe that it is being used against Canadians today by its federal government.

Only awareness and concerted counter-action can hope to alter this plan. In the long term, it spells disaster for mankind.

HOUSTON, Texas — Breitbart Texas obtained internal federal government photos depicting the conditions of foreign children warehoused by authorities on U.S. soil on Wednesday night. Thousands of illegal immigrants have overrun U.S. border security and their processing centers in Texas along the U.S./Mexico border. Unaccompanied minors, including young girls under the age of 12, are making the dangerous journey from Central America and Mexico, through cartel-controlled territories, and across the porous border onto U.S. soil.

The photos illuminate the conditions of the U.S. Border Patrol’s processing centers, as well as the overwhelming task Border Patrol is facing.

Breitbart Texas Border Expert and Contributing Editor Sylvia Longmire reviewed the photos.

“Given the deteriorating security and economic conditions in the Central American countries where most of these children and adult immigrants came from, it's hard to understand how DHS didn't see this coming,” Longmire said. “The trend towards increased cross-border movement towards south Texas and away from Arizona has been apparent; the trend of Central Americans starting to outnumber Mexican crossers has been apparent. Even worse is believing that DHS knew this was coming, but didn't have the resources or ability to cut through bureaucratic red tape to prepare more quickly.

“Now the results of this mismanagement are thousands of individuals living in inhumane conditions for an indeterminate period of time, as well as exhausted and overwhelmed Border Patrol agents and CBP detention facilities," Longmire continued. "The Obama administration's band-aid fix has been to ship a good portion of these immigrants — many of whom are weak, emotionally vulnerable, sick, and confused — to other sectors as far as San Diego county in California and release them with no obligation other than to show up for a hearing in 15 days.

“Most of those released will abscond and never show up for their hearings, taking their chances that ICE won't have the time or resources to go looking for them," she added. "Until they can get to where they want to go, they're overwhelming local community resources in cities like Laredo, El Paso, and Tucson that haven't had enough time to prepare for this ‘solution.' This is an awful way to showcase what cartel and gang violence is doing to children and their families in Central America, and it's a humiliating example of what our government's inability to develop solid immigration and border security policies can cause.”

Abstract

Glyphosate is an active ingredient of the most widely used herbicide and it is believed to be less toxic than other pesticides. However, several recent studies showed its potential adverse health effects to humans as it may be an endocrine disruptor. This study focuses on the effects of pure glyphosate on estrogen receptors (ERs) mediated transcriptional activity and their expressions. Glyphosate exerted proliferative effects only in human hormone-dependent breast cancer, T47D cells, but not in hormone-independent breast cancer, MDA-MB231 cells, at 10⁻¹² to 10⁻⁶M in estrogen withdrawal condition. The proliferative concentrations of glyphosate that induced the activation of estrogen response element (ERE) transcription activity were 5-13 fold of control in T47D-KBluc cells and this activation was inhibited by an estrogen antagonist, ICI 182780, indicating that the estrogenic activity of glyphosate was mediated via ERs. Furthermore, glyphosate also altered both ERα and β expression. These results indicated that low and environmentally relevant concentrations of glyphosate possessed estrogenic activity. Glyphosate-based herbicides are widely used for soybean cultivation, and our results also found that there was an additive estrogenic effect between glyphosate and genistein, a phytoestrogen in soybeans. However, these additive effects of glyphosate contamination in soybeans need further animal study.

Holder: Americans Opposed to Obama's Transformation of US Guilty of 'Quiet Prejudice'

Attorney General Eric Holder, who has suggested that critics of the Obama administration are motivated by race and referred to America as a "nation of cowards" on race issues while blasting Americans who resist more gun control laws, suggested that those opposed to President Barack Obama's policy agenda of "fundamental transformation" are quietly prejudiced.

In his Saturday commencement address at Morgan State University, a historically black university in Maryland, Holder said that even though there are no more "separate but equal" laws on the 60th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education decision, the "vestiges of state-sanctioned discrimination continue to reverberate across the country even today."
He said America is done a disservice when they "trade the noisy discord of honest, tough, and vigorous debate for the quiet prejudice of inaction – and the cold silence of consent." To Holder, dialogue is insufficient to address the "hidden" racism in society but is "a necessary first step that must lead to action."
After comparing Obamacare to the Civil Rights Act of 1965, Holder suggested that those opposed to Obama's "year of action" are silently displaying their prejudices and suggested that "action" is needed in voting rights, school discipline, and criminal justice reform. He blasted voter ID laws and "zero-tolerance school discipline practices" that "affect black males at a rate three times higher than their white peers." The Justice Department's school guideline reforms have been heavily criticized for effectively forcing schools to enact "de facto racial quotas" in school discipline.
Holder also condemned a "criminal justice system that treats groups of people differently – and punishes them unequally" – because it has "a much more negative impact than misguided words that we can reject out of hand."
Even though there was near universal condemnation for Donald Sterling's and Cliven Bundy's comments about black Americans, Holder said that was not good enough because the public outrage merely masks "hidden" racism in society.
"But we ought not find contentment in the fact that these high-profile expressions of outright bigotry seem atypical and were met with such swift condemnation," he said. "Because if we focus solely on these incidents – on outlandish statements that capture national attention and spark outrage on Facebook and Twitter – we are likely to miss the more hidden, and more troubling, reality behind the headlines."
Holder said that while these incidents have "rightly been condemned by leaders, commentators, and citizens from all backgrounds and walks of life," the "policies that disenfranchise specific groups are more pernicious than hateful rants."
